Rochon was selected to construct Enbridge’s new downtown operations and office facility, designed to support long-term operational needs while meeting rigorous sustainability and performance targets. From the outset, the project required careful planning and disciplined execution, beginning with extensive site remediation on a location widely regarded as one of the most contaminated sites in Toronto.
The project involved significant environmental remediation and specialized construction techniques prior to and during vertical construction. Rochon developed and implemented a comprehensive Soil & Groundwater Management Plan, managing contaminated soil and groundwater in full compliance with applicable environmental regulations, including off-site disposal of impacted materials.
These requirements drove a highly technical build, incorporating deep excavations, shoring, dewatering, and suspended slab construction within the constraints of a dense downtown environment. The structure was engineered with long-term flexibility in mind, including roof-level and structural provisions to accommodate future vertical expansion as Enbridge’s needs evolve.
The result is a future-ready, high-performance facility delivered through disciplined execution, technical expertise, and close coordination across all project partners.
